Miryala Ravinder Reddy are thrilled with the response their film, Peddha Kapu, has received at the box office. Srikanth, who also played the antagonist in the film says, “I am delighted that the film is resonating with the masses, just as I intended. While the film might be more violent than my previous work, there’s a reason for it. The story demanded it.”
Set in the backdrop of 1980s Andhra Pradesh, the film narrates the compelling journey of an ordinary individual’s battle against injustice.
“In a way, my father was the inspiration for the story. He witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of politics when NT Rama Rao established his party in 1982. Contrary to common misconceptions, the film’s title bears no relation to caste; it simply denotes a person who comes to the aid of those in need, much like our protagonist. I conceived the film as two-part series, the sequel is in the works.”
Ravinder shares his “double joy” for the film’s success, saying, “I’m thrilled that a film I backed is doing well, and I’m equally pleased with the positive feedback my brother-in-law, lead actor Virat Karrna has got withi his debut. This film is dear to me, and I’m confident it will continue to perform well in theatres.
Produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations, Peddha Kapu 1 is running in theatres.
